The Lakeville Board of Assessors is that branch of local government whose job is to estimate the value of all real and personal property within the Town.  This value is calculated into an assessment which computes into a property tax bill.  In addition, the Assessors Office performs many other functions such as inspecting new construction and improvements to existing structures. This ensures that the Assessors Office has a current and accurate record of each property's physical inventory for fair and appropriate assessments.  To view Assessor's field cards, click on the box in the table above.

The Assessors also approve and keep track of property tax exemptions (money subtracted from your tax).  Among the most common are for persons over 65 who qualify, widows, certain veterans and agricultural exemptions. The Assessors also generate, with the help of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the motor vehicle and boat excise tax assessments, which are then sent to the Town Treasurer/Collector for billing. The Assessors also own and maintain the Town's GIS mapping software.
