OPEN BURNING REGULATIONSA permit must be obtained from the Fire Department prior to any burning.
Burning may be conducted from January 15th to April 30th.
Hours of burning are from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., (all fires must be extinguished by 4:00 P.M.)
Prior to burning, residents must call the Fire Department to obtain permission, residents should call after 9:00 A.M. and before 12:00 P.M.
Burning must be conducted of land proximate to point of generation.
Burning must be conducted at least 75 feet from any building or dwelling.
Burning must be conducted during periods of good atmospheric conditions as regulated by the Department of Environmental Protection.
UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, THE FOLLOWING IS PROHIBITED:
The burning of cane, trees, and driftwood from commercial, institutional or residential land clearing operations.
Burning of grass, hay, leaves and stumps.
Burning of tires.
Burning during adverse meteorological conditions.
Burning of construction materials.
