Lakeville's Open Space and Recreation Committee is responsible for preparing the Open Space and Recreation Plan.  A successful plan is worth money to Lakeville - grants are available to communities that have an approved plan on file in Boston.  (In fact, this survey was funded by grant money.)

 Our last plan, which was published in 2001, has served us well.  The Town has followed a number of important initiatives outlined in that plan.  Now, it's time for a new plan.  We will update the existing plan to reflect the growth and physical changes in Lakeville and also changes to residents' visions for the Town.  A critical component of the plan is this survey, which gauges these new perceptions.
