2018 State General Election- Absentee Voting

Town Clerk Lillian M. Drane, would like to announce that the absentee ballots for the upcoming State General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 have arrived in her office.

If you are NOT going to be in town between the hours of 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., you may wish to vote in absentia.  There are two ways in which you can do this.  You may go to her office between the hours of 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. Tuesday through Thursday, Mondays 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. and Fridays 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and vote over-the-counter or you may request, in writing, that a ballot be mailed to you.  Direct relatives may also file a form to request a ballot for a family member.

Absentee Voting applies to:

  • A registered voter who is absent from the voter’s city or town during normal polling hours;
  • A registered voter with a physical disability
  • Religious belief
  • A non-registered voter who is absent from the state
  • An active member of the armed forces or merchant marines, their spouses or dependent; or
  • A person confined in a correctional or a jail, except if by reason of felony conviction.
