Household Hazardous Waste Day

Saturday, June 12th 9 AM - 12 PM
HHW Flyer 2021

On June 12th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., the Lakeville Transfer Station will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Day.

This event is free to all year-round and seasonal residents of Lakeville (proof of residency will be required).  However, this event must run on a first-come, first-served basis and may close prior to noon based on the volume of material received.

We ask that you keep the items in original packaging; caps and lids should be tight.  Items should be packed upright in sturdy containers, padded if necessary. Never smoke while handling hazardous materials, and no matter what you see on the internet - never pack hazardous materials in garbage or plastic bags.

A list of acceptable and non-acceptable materials is available by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.

Quick Info:

Latex Paint - Latex paint is not considered a hazardous material. Paint may be left open to dry or painted on material that can be disposed of.  There are additives available for purchase at local hardware stores that will solidify the paint.  Empty cans or cans with solid paint may be thrown in the green bags used for household trash.

Medications - The Lakeville Police Station, located at 323 Bedford Street is the only safe and legal disposal location.  A secure receptacle is available in the lobby.

Sharps - The Transfer Station allows for the disposal of sharps in approved containers. A Transfer Station sticker is not required.
