Mattress & Box Spring Recycling
Effective November 1, 2022 mattresses and box springs were banned from disposal in Massachusetts, and while we encourage residents to take advantage of disposal options available from retailers, mattresses and box springs are accepted at the Transfer Station. The Transfer Station also accepts crib and foam mattresses.
Please check in with the attendant upon arrival.
All recyclable mattresses and box springs are collected in the enclosed container, located to the right of the office. A mattress will be considered non-recyclable if it is wet, heavily soiled, moldy, or containing bedbugs. This decision will be made by the attendant and is final.
RECYCLABLE MATTRESSES ONLY: If you do not have a Transfer Station sticker or cannot transport a mattress there are local mattress recyclers that offer curbside and/or drop off services. These vendors are not affiliated with the Town of Lakeville for these services and all pricing is determined by the vendor.
