Roadway work is expected to begin on Kingman Street, weather permitting, Tuesday, July 18th.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

Chip Seal Coat - Tuesday, July 18th

This date has been revised from the original construction notice.

Contractors will be using the Cape Seal process on the existing roadway.  This work consists of two separate courses. The chip seal coat, scheduled for July 18, involves spraying liquid petroleum, covering that with a stone, then rolling the surface. The road will be rough and small stones will come loose, please drive with caution.

Microsurface paving is tentatively scheduled to follow on July 24th.  Microsurface paving is a mixture of polymer-modified asphalt emulsion, mineral aggregates, water, and additives.

Residents of Kingman Street are asked to locate and flag existing sprinkler heads that are within ten feet of the roadway edge.  The Town of Lakeville is not responsible for the replacement of sprinkler heads or systems that are broken during construction but every effort will be made to avoid them if they are flagged.

Police details will be onsite throughout the project to assist with traffic flow and safety.  There will be a rough road surface after the chip seal coat, please use caution when traveling.  The top course of pavement will require additional time to set and road closures will be necessary to protect the integrity of the newly paved surface.  Marked detours may be in place. We are asking residents to exercise patience and use alternate routes whenever possible.

Updated information will be posted on the Town website and the DPW Facebook page.
