Recycling Information

Thanks to the effort of many residents, Lakeville’s drop-off recycling program continues to be a success! Keep up the good work! Recycling is easier than you think. Recycling requirements have changed over the years making it even simpler for you to take part. You no longer have to remove labels or keep track of many other recycling rules. Most items can just be dropped in the appropriate bins.

The following is a list of items that are accepted free of charge, with a sticker. Please sort your materials into properly marked containers.

Paper

  • Newspaper with Inserts
  • Corrugated cardboard (plastic and styrofoam must be removed, please flatten)
  • No waxed or plasticized containers 
  • Magazines and Catalogs
  • Paperboard such as shoe and cereal boxes, brown paper bags, etc.(please flatten)
  • Phone Books
  • No soiled paper, paper must be dry

Glass

  • Glass bottles/jars (Clear, green and brown, please rinse clean and remove caps and rings)
  • No broken glass or other glass items such as window glass, dishes, glasses, Pyrex, light bulbs, or ceramics

Fluorescent

  • Thermometers (or any other mercury-bearing materials); fluorescent bulbs

Plastic

  • Shampoo, milk jugs, bleach, items marked with #1 and #2 (please empty and rinse clean)
  • Frosted containers

Metals

  • Aluminum, tin, steel cans/lids
  • (rinse clean, remove tips from aerosol cans)
  • Deposit beverage cans/bottles;
  • Non-deposit beverage cans

Yard Waste

  • Grass, leaves, other easily raked material
  • Brush, Christmas trees (10” maximum diameter for branches)
  • No stumps or rocks

Oil & Antifreeze - 5 Gallon Maximum

  • Clean waste oil, no mixes
  • Antifreeze
