Be a Leaf Hero!

Keeping leaves off the streets is a bigger deal than you might think.

They clog storm drains, which can result in local flooding and in winter - unsafe, icy conditions.

Leaves decay and the nutrients enter the water, which can lead to eutrophication (definition: excessive richness of nutrients in a lake or other body of water, frequently due to runoff from the land, which causes a dense growth of plant life and death of animal life from lack of oxygen.) and algae blooms.

Now, what can you do with all of those leaves?

  • Do you have a Transfer Station Sticker?  You can bring your leaves and yard waste to us - $5.00 for a truckload or small trailer.
  • Plants and flowers love the nutrients, maybe try your hand at a compost pile in your yard.
  • Contact your curbside pick-up company regarding their policies/rates.
