Transfer Station - Updated Rates and Schedule

At a recent meeting, the Board of Selectmen approved revisions to the Transfer Station schedule, price list, and FY21 sticker price.  The past few years have seen marked changes in the recycling and solid waste markets, notably the closure of a local glass recycling plant, enforcement of the National Sword Policy in the Chinese market, and the sheer volume of materials.  These changes have had a profound impact on the costs associated with recycling and waste disposal and have impacted us here on a local level. 

The value and services offered by the Town at the Transfer Station are important to all of us. We strive to obtain competitive pricing in the changing markets while continuing to offer a wide array of disposal options for our residents.  As a source-separated recycler, our employees and residents actually work together to limit contamination, keeping costs down and ensuring our materials are accepted at local facilities. 

The revised price list includes increases on some items as well as a new schedule and will be effective as of November 11, 2019.  The facility will be closed to the public on Wednesday and will open at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.  We are hoping that with these changes the Transfer Station can continue to operate at the high level of service you are accustomed to.
