How do I get a library card?

Apply for a library card in person at the circulation desk.

Come with picture ID and proof of Massachusetts residency. A  Massachusetts driver’s license or ID card satisfies both requirements. If you don’t have a Massachusetts driver’s license or state ID, you can bring your out of state license along with a piece of official mail sent to you at a Massachusetts address.

Children under the age of 18 can get a card with the signature of a parent or guardian.

You may also register online for a temporary card. This will allow you to search the catalog, reserve books and use Overdrive to download books and magazines. You have 3 weeks to come to the library with picture ID and proof of Massachusetts residency to process your permanent card.
