Old Colony New School Vote – June 20, 2026
A second district wide election on the Old Colony Vocational Technical High School Building Project will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Voters in Rochester, Acushnet, Mattapoisett, Carver, and Lakeville will return to the polls to decide whether to approve a new Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School.
Lakeville’s polling location will be at Assawompset Elementary School - Gymnasium, 232 Main Street, and will be open to voters from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Project Cost and Funding
Total project cost: $288.7 million
State contribution (estimated): $129,675,235
Town borrowing (combined): $159,068,448
Lakeville’s share: Approximately $39.7 million to be borrowed through a debt exclusion
What’s Included
- Three new shops: Plumbing, HVAC, Dental Assistant
- Approximately 200 additional seats
- Addresses current facility issues (single well for water, no fire sprinklers)
Estimated Tax Impact for Lakeville
The estimated tax impact will be about $452.34 per year for the average home assessed at $572,576.
Information Sessions (Open to the Public)
June 6, 10:00 a.m. – Open House at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School. Building Project presentation will be followed by a tour.
